Feb. 17th, 2006 08:34 amIt's February in Pittsburgh. Beginning of the week, we had flurries and it barely got above freezing. Wednesday and Thursday, it was in the 60's. Today, high winds and plummeting temps. Only supposed to hit 20 degrees tomorrow. I feel like I'm living a Lewis Black monologue...
The good tax news is that while unpaid Student Loans took the lion's share of our tax refund, they left us enough to pay our bills yay!! Now if I could just grasp the idea that paying the utility bills on time is A Good Thing, I think we'd be fine.
OK, long story time... I had a library fine of some years' standing, which I finally paid Wednesday. On Thursday, however, I found myself stupidly pondering the purchase of two books from my local antique mall. It wasn't a bad deal: Alexandre Dumas' The Three Musketeers for $4.00 and Pearl Buck's The Good Earth for $10.00, both in hardcover. One mental Gibbs-slap later, I'm on my way to BORROW both books from the library, along with Dave Barry's Boogers Are My Beat and the first books in the The Princess Diaries and Artemis Fowl series. Should be a wonderful two weeks!
