nofavesI love the Pittsburgh Pirates! Went to see the doubleheader tonight, and I got to see my first live grand slam. Well, technically, my first TWO live grand slams... but I refuse to count the one the Cubs had in the seventh. The only one that mattered was the game-winning, walk-off salami by Rob Mackowiak in the bottom of the ninth to win Game One.
Had to leave before Game Two was over; it didn't start till nearly 9:00 pm, and ended up going extra innings. The kids would have been U-G-L-Y!! So I had to watch the end on cable, and we came from behind in the ninth, thanks to Mackowiak (again!) and his tying homer, and completed the sweep in the tenth!
So now all the teams in the NL central are .500 or better! We're only four games out of first!!!
Who needs Raul Mondesi anyway?
